Are you looking to run a Food Drive for Foodbank?

Food drives are a great way for individuals, schools, clubs, organisations and companies to help supply the non-perishable items that are always needed by Foodbank.

With the demand for our services on the rise, it is more important than ever that we support the South Australian community. Hunger is one of Australia’s best kept secrets, yet it affects more than 117,260 South Australians every month, with one third of them being children. They are families like yours, they might live in your street. But because they suffer in silence, you would never know.

You can Register your Foodbank SA Food Drive, so we can adequately support you.

Please take some time to read through our Food Drive guide.

What are Foodbank’s Most Wanted Items?

Our most wanted items are those who everyone should have in their pantries.

  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Pasta Sauces
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Veggies
  • Canned Soups
  • Baked Beans
  • Jams & Spreads
  • Long life milk
  • Breakfast Cereal

When planning and promoting your Food Drive, make sure that you have this ‘shopping list’ handy!

Can I get boxes or containers from Foodbank?

Yes you can. But you don’t have to. We find that it is easier if you just get any cardboard box you have available. You can decorate it with your own posters and the list of your most wanted items. If you really want boxes from Foodbank, please drop by at our office at 377A Cross Road, Edwardstown, during business hours.

I am running a Food Drive at my school. Does it work the same way?

As we work with Schools with a range of different activities, our Schools Coordinator would love to hear from your Food Drive! Please contact Eleisha Golding at 8351 1136, extension 242, or via email on eleishag@ foodbanksa. org. au. Eleisha has great ideas on how to engage kids to help our community.

Do you have posters to help  promote my Food Drive?

Yes we do! Click here to download some posters with our Most Wanted list. Our special poster for Schools is here.

What are your drop off points?

You can drop off your donation at any of our four warehouses across the state, or our Food Hubs. You can find all addresses and trading hours here.

Do I need to register my Food Drive with Foodbank?

We would really appreciate if you can let us know that you are running a Food Drive for us, and for how long (we recommend three to four weeks but that is entirely up to you). Please register your food drive on the Registration link.

Good luck and thanks for joining the fight against hunger in Australia!
